The finish is at the Grote Markt and closes at 23.00hrs. This is due to safety concerns because of people who are going out for a drink in the town centre. The trail is KNAU/IAAF certified.
Competition ladies get an early start
Because of the succes of this method at the previous editions of the Half Marathon, the competition ladies will also start a bit early this year. They will leave at 20.07 hrs, precisly 7 minutes and 45 seconds before the men and all the other recreationists. This is the time difference between the track record of the men(1:00:37 by Richard Mengich in 2016) and the track record of the ladies (1:08:22 by Flomena Chepchirchir in 2011). Which woman will be able to stay ahead of the fastest running man?
